The Harvard Model United Nations Conference is underway! HMUN 2011 has attracted over 2900 delegates from around the world. Opening Ceremonies featured several smooth speeches that touched on a range of topics, from the importance of negotiation to the impact of social media. Gillian Sorensen of the UN Foundation delivered the keynote speech via live video feed from New York. And a couple well-made videos added a nice touch to the beginning of the conference.

My congratulations for the opening ceremony, formal and inspirational, help the students to set the mood and to focus on the important issues at hand.
Mrs. Sorensen was superb, great speech, excellent speaker, couldn’t be better.
