Model United Nations of the University of Chicago (MUNUC) XXVI

Model United Nations of the University of Chicago (MUNUC) XXVII took place February 5th- 8th. Over 2500 delegates were in attendance along with a staff of more than 200 University of Chicago students.

Sam Neal, Secretary-General of MUNUC XXVII, attended MUNUC XX and MUNUC XXI as a high school student and he knew when he arrived at The University of Chicago that he wanted to help lead MUNUC in the future.

According to Sam, “Our conference is unique in that it focuses almost exclusively on the educational value of Model UN. We don’t emphasize awards. In fact the only reason we really have awards is to motivate people to act as diplomats might.  We don’t give out team awards because we do not view this as a competition. Our emphasis is entirely on pedagogy.”
