by KFC on April 2, 2012

Oprah Winfrey made a surprise visit to the Cornell Model United Nations Conference (CMUNC) this past Saturday. She was there to watch two of her students from the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, a boarding school Winfrey founded in South Africa. The girls were competing as part of the South Africa High Schools delegation which won the Outstanding Small Delegation award at Closing Ceremonies on Sunday. Oprah made her visit with Gayle King and observed several committees. Oprah talked about her experience visiting CMUNC on CBS This Morning (@11:36) and gave a shout out to the Cambodian Civil War committee. To find out more about her visit, read The Cornell Daily Sun’s coverage of her visit.
