Pennsylvania High School United Nations Conference (PHUNC) Registration is Now Open!

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Bethany Kline and I am writing to you on behalf of our Secretary General, Ann Semel, regarding the Pennsylvania High School United Nations Conference, PHUNC, which will take place November 9-11, 2012 in State College, Pennsylvania.  PHUNC is hosted by the Penn State International Affairs and Debate Association, a group of undergraduate students who are passionate about debate and Model UN.

PHUNC will be based in the Nittany Lion Inn, which is Happy Valley’s premier Hotel and Conference Center and located on the West Side of Penn State’s campus.  Not only will delegates be competing in fast-paced and challenging debates, but they will also get the opportunity to explore campus and all it has to offer.  And, after a challenging day in committee delegates will be able to unwind and get to know each other at the socials we have planned for them.

PHUNC is an exciting opportunity for High School debaters because the conference will solely feature small, crisis-based committees.  This will allow delegates to hone their debate skills and improve their public speaking ability.  PHUNC features a unique variety of committees, from traditional UN bodies to historical committees.  Delegates will no doubt be challenged in ways that they haven’t before!

We hope to see this November for PHUNC’s inaugural year!
