UCBMUN Live Blog: Professor, Delegates Discuss Democracy & Middle East at Opening Ceremonies

UCBMUN just kicked off! UC Berkeley’s collegiate MUN conference features 11 committees ranging from a summit of the G20 to a joint crisis of the 1975 Lebanese Civil War. Opening ceremonies featured a keynote speech by Berkeley Professor Darren Zook, who asked, “Should the UN be pro-democracy?” in the context of the current situation of the Middle East, which prompted a lively discussion from delegates.
