There are many definitions of success in Model UN, and awards are only one extrinsic way of measuring success. Nevertheless, awards serve to recognize both individual students and college teams as a whole for their accomplishments in leadership, research, public speaking, resolution-building, negotiation, and diplomacy.
Every year, the College MUN rankings celebrate the MUN teams that showed immense resilience by not only enduring despite the year’s challenges, but also succeeding at the highest level possible in collegiate Model UN.
Methodology
The World Division refers to the circuit of collegiate Model UN teams that are primarily run by college Head Delegates and primarily attend conferences hosted by college Model UN organizations, with the vast majority of those conferences featuring crisis committees. This ranking is only for the World Division.
The World Division Rankings uses a Cumulative Weighted Score Methodology. The Weighted Score Methodology is the same since Fall 2018 with modifications in conference weightings to reflect attendance and competitiveness this year. Conferences included in the calculations are listed below and grouped with their approximate peer conferences in terms of ranking.
Awards data were provided by the conferences, and we could only use the conferences that chose to provide data or where data was publicly available. We did our best to reach out to all conferences that we’re aware of. Tiers change every year based on data and are as follows for this year:

McMUN
NCSC
ChoMUN
UPMUNC, LAMUN, BarMUN

Top 25 Overview
The era of DC Dominance continues – but Georgetown is the clear #1 team this year. They won the most individual awards and delegation awards, and broke the American University dynasty in the process. GW also achieved its highest rank ever. Georgetown, GW, and American give DC three of the top six teams on the circuit.
Berkeley is a clear #2 this year and achieved their highest rank ever. It is also the highest ranking ever for a team from the West Coast. After Georgetown and Berkeley, the next four were very close and arguably interchangeable as the “P5” on the circuit for the season: GW, UChicago, Harvard, and American.
Georgia continues its rapid rise with its highest rank ever as well, and leads the next cluster of Top 15 teams. There was a clear drop off in weighted points scored at the Top 15 mark, and again at the Top 25 mark.
The proliferation of smaller conferences across different regions makes headlines, but attendance is starting to get stretched thin. The exception seems to be ArchMUN’s growth, which mirrors UGA’s rise. The rebuild of UPMUNC’s size and competitiveness is arguably more significant when it comes to its statistical effect on the rankings.
Overall, the variance is usually within +/- 5 place ranks between final ranking here and the raw points of individual awards won. That means it takes a combination of winning many awards and winning them mostly at competitive conferences in order to make the Top 25.
TOP 25 TEAMS
- Georgetown University
Georgetown University Model United Nations (GUMUN) has had its best season yet, earning eight delegation awards and a record number of individual awards. The team has proven an ability to compete at the highest level, succeeding across committee styles and formats.
GUMUN maintains its commitment to being a no-cut team, and this year especially highlights that our strength is not in selection, but in development. We are so proud of every one of our delegates; they consistently show up to trainings and conferences (and also Byrnes lobby) with a strong drive and so much care for each other.
GUMUN has persevered through it all — a delayed McBus, a questionable New York hostel, an infamously ill-fated flight to Chicago. From cooking in LA to Time Out Market in Montreal to family dinner here in DC, GUMUN has thrived not just as an unstoppable team but as an unbreakable family.
None of this would have been possible without the leadership of Head Delegate Michelle Giovinazzo, whose dedication has helped shape what GUMUN is today. We can’t wait to see what incoming Head Delegate Caroline Dupas and the largest leadership team in GUMUN history have in store for next year!
- University of California, Berkeley
The 2025–2026 season was one to remember for the UC Berkeley Model United Nations team, as we brought swagger, nonchalance, and plenty of memorable moments across the conference circuit. We kicked off an incredible year with strong performances that led to Best Large Delegation at TrojanMUN, Outstanding Large Delegation at NCSC with just twelve delegates, and dominant Best Large finishes at SBIMUN, McMUN, and LAMUN. The depth of our team cannot be overstated: over thirty people travelled at least twice per semester. Throughout the season, our delegates consistently showed up ready to work hard, play hard, and #represent Berkeley at the highest level.
We built lasting friendships, welcomed new faces into our community, and created memories that stretched far outside committee rooms. We are so proud of the relationships we built both within our delegation and throughout the wider circuit. We put on for our coast, and shoutout to all the goated West Coast schools that helped make this year special.
None of this would have happened without the incredible effort and leadership of our President Nicholas Carone, and our Head Delegates: Anousha Athreya, Paloma Corona, Rory Miller, and Anita White, along with our Executive Team: Will Baker, Ava Volman, Audrey Watson, Cheyenne Jemison, Tanya Anand, Karis Morasch, Victoria Gutanu, Patrick Bennett, and Amara Fernandes. We are deeply grateful to every delegate and member of the team for everything they brought to this season, and we’re excited to see where next year’s team goes from here. The circuit shall hereforth be known as Bear Territory.
- The George Washington University
GWMUN rose to new heights this year! Bringing more delegates on conference than ever before and traveling to 13 conferences throughout the year. This year the team’s strong upperclassmen and an incredibly talented cadet class propelled them to success. Community is at the heart of the team, fostering life long friendships both on the team and across the circuit. Whether it was a delegates’ first conference or their thirty first delegates approached each and every challenge with rigor and grit, overcoming every challenge that came their way without fail. Once again GW delegates showed up and showed out at every single conference they attended collectively scoring more points than ever in recent memory. This year was marked by late night card games, 28 hr amtraks, countless icebergs and late night debriefs! Many thanks to this year’s apparatus, the team’s success would not be possible without them: Head Delegate: Faith Farley, and Assistant Head Delegates: Anoushka Rao, Evelyn Richardson, Deepti Pillai, Jimmy Farley, and Mia Sorgie. We can’t wait to see what GWMUN does next year and are excited for a new era of success! Raise High!
- University of Chicago
In the words of Pericles: if Team appears great to you, consider then that its glories were purchased by valiant delegates. This year, they assuredly were, if one considers the currency of time, skill, and effort. We do.
Behind the veil of ignorance, one may imagine choosing whether or not to dedicate these currencies to Model United Nations and determining whether such a decision is justified. In a world of hundreds of alternatives, we are eternally grateful that our members choose Team.
To all of those who helped make Team special this year, especially our fourth-years, thank you. As Marcus Aurelius said (in Gladiator—the film, no relation to the stoic philosopher): what we do now echoes in eternity. Your memories will live on in our future success. We look forward to a great next year. Kant. Kant. Kant, Kant, Kant.
- Harvard College
Harvard truly did not go down this season on the circuit! Despite exhaustion after red-eye flights, scary Thursday debriefs, and truly fierce circuit competition, ICMUN is insanely proud of their performance this year. This year, Harvard traveled to nine conferences across North America, brought home 6 delegation awards, and won an amazing 70 individual awards. The circuit has brought them endless friendships, fond memories at delegate socials (if they remember them), and so much excitement for the next season! The team is so insanely grateful for our two new classes, the IC-Sugars and IC-Spices, for bringing with them such fun energy, a passion for competing, and a striking dedication to ICMUN. Speaking of dedication, this team would not run without the incredibly devoted leadership board (shoutout Kitchen!), who have invested countless hours in the success of this team. Finally, this team would certainly not exist without the effort put in by our graduating seniors over the years, who we will miss dearly. Shoutout and huge thank you to the ’25-’25 Head Delegates KALF (Kenny, Addy, Lucia, & Fayyaz) for being such powerful role models and mentors. The ’26-’27 Head Delegates, CH(e)FS (Kaitlin, Saarah, Becca, & Malak) are so excited to see everyone back on the circuit next year!
- American University
The AUMUN team proudly continued our legacy of success this season. American dominated the circuit, traveling to twelve conferences across North America and excelling in committees of every format. This year, we set a team record for the highest number of new members traveling to compete, reinforcing our commitment to mentorship while further cementing our status as one of the circuit’s consistently top-ranked teams. We also expanded financial accessibility for members and took our first international flight together thanks to the support of the School of International Service.
This season also brought countless new traditions to AUMUN like pool caucusing and Chili’s team dinners, while proudly continuing longstanding ones like knighting our first-time gavelers. At home, the team continued to innovate in training and conference preparation while building community beyond competition. Whether at late-night strategy sessions or over Szechuanese food at our first International Relations Society Banquet, the AUMUN family continued to bond and grow closer over another incredible year.
What continues to distinguish AUMUN is the culture of community, mentorship, and ambition that drives our success year after year. We are immensely grateful to our thirteen graduating seniors for their leadership and lasting impact on this team, and we cannot wait to see all they accomplish in the future. We are also thankful for the dedication of our 2025-26 leadership team: Head Delegate Sievalee Wijayawardhana, alongside Assistant Head Delegates Zach Guerrero, Cindy Yang, Abbie Causey, Warren Richthammer, Sri Vellakkat, and Laila Kirkpatrick. Finally, we are deeply appreciative of our outgoing faculty advisor, Dr. Jeff Bachman, whose unwavering support guided AUMUN into the most successful era in our team’s history so far. As we look toward the future, we are excited to welcome a new generation of delegates and continue building on the traditions, friendships, and competitive excellence that define AUMUN. Go Eagles!
- University of Georgia
Georgia has quickly risen to become a top 10 team on the circuit. National wins included Outstanding Small at HNMUN, Best Small at NCSC, and Outstanding Small at UCBMUN. Closer to the South, they won Best Large at VICS, and Outstanding Large awards at MUNE, SUNMUN, and AIRMUNC.
- University of California, Los Angeles
UCLA Model UN had an incredible year, going to nine conferences, winning delegation awards at four, and getting our best ever performance at HNMUN and McMUN. Throughout wherever we went, we maintained our traditions, from park night in DC (much to the behest of various limbs), the occasional Munlympics that we sometimes would win, and, most of all, the tradition of being a nice team that brings fun to the circuit. This team would not have been possible without both the head delegates and the many, many delegates we brought all across North America this year. We have faith in our next set of head delegates–Madeline Abellera, Carly Bloom, and Alli Fazis–to carry on the legacy and bring this team to even greater heights and perhaps even closer head delegate connections. As always, go Bruins, and we thank all those on this year’s team, the years before, and all those to come!
- Florida International University
After a year full of gavel-grabbing, overly long stays in Boston, and a nearly-missed train ride, FIUMUN is incredibly proud to continue its streak as one of the Top 10 Collegiate Model UN teams in the North American Circuit since 2011. The 2025-2026 school year saw a meteoric rise in several of FIU Model UN’s new members and leaders alike, contributing towards 3 delegation awards across 10 conferences attended, with too many energy drinks to count. This year was truly one for the history books, and it was all capped off by a beautiful Sade and shawarma-filled gala that will not soon be forgotten.
We wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of our faculty advisor, Dr. Mohamed Ghumrawi and the dedication of our leadership team made up of our Head Delegates, Gabriella Sanchez, Deborah Ruiz, Aidan Papke, and John Weaver; Heads of Training, Kathy Cuellar, Andres Gonzales, and Max Keck; Social Chairs, Leticia Kato Araujo, Natalie Alguera; and our high school conference, FIMUN Secretary General and Director General, Angie Zuleta and Ken Nava. We also want to extend our gratitude towards the FIU Green School, which has allowed us to represent this Hispanic Serving Institution through high achievement, as well as the FIU Student Government Association, which has funded and believed in our ventures.
Building off of this momentum, we are so incredibly excited for FIU MUN’s future and for incoming leadership. We send our gratitude to the class of incoming 1st years, who will no doubt carry on the legacy of this team for years to come. We also wish to recognize our returners, who serve as a strong foundation from which this program can blossom. Paws up, and thank you for an amazing year!
- Claremont McKenna College
From Friday night practices, to midnight prep sessions in the library, to weekends on the East Coast, CMCMUN became a true family this year. After winning at WorldMUN in Peru, we hosted our annual high school conference and shattered our previous attendance record. The history books (this article) will show that CMCMUN won multiple delegation awards, placed first at WorldMUN, and had delegates win multiple gavels in the season. CMCMUN was so much more than its competitive success. Led by President Tom Inouye and VP Sam Johnson-Saeger, we welcomed a new class of brilliant CMCers who, months later, are leading our team as training managers and directors. Our senior class, a talented group (including an outdoorsman, artist, music producer, spiritual leader, and more) are leaving us to pursue their passions. Our small and mighty team is looking forward to continued success in the coming year, and we thank our seniors for their dedication and friendship! Team comes first!
- Fordham University at Rose Hill
Fordham Model United Nations had an amazing performance on the circuit, winning three delegation awards throughout the season. Despite having a significantly reduced budget during the first semester, the Executive board worked tirelessly to still send out delegates to five conferences across the nation in the first semester. Over the eleven conferences FUMUN attended, our delegates both new and old, continued to give it their all through every single committee session. Our team is the embodiment of the “work hard, play hard” mentality. Through endless MUN-day meetings, countless UberEats orders, and inspiring pre-committee speeches this team continues to succeed because of the environment it fosters: one rooted in supporting every member of our team.
The countless memories that our delegates made would not be possible without the phenomenal conferences FUMUN attended. Thank you to every school who hosted us and gave us an opportunity to learn more and more about an activity we all enjoy. FUMUN is beyond excited to see what the next season will bring! In FUMUN fashion we all know: “Job’s not finished.”
- University of Miami
UMiami MUN has just come off two straight years of growth and success. This year saw the most points in the club’s history and the largest recruiting class the organization has ever seen. Miami MUN has grown and will continue to soar to new heights. We thank everyone on the team for such an incredible year, especially under outgoing Head Delegates Diego Balda and Elliot Rose who’ve taken this club to new horizons. Between the unforgettable team dinners, pre-conference debriefs at Mahoney, and white girl music breaks, the team has continued to build a special bond that can’t be shattered. Under Diego Balda and Elliot Rose, the team has become the most successful it’s ever been, all while we have fun and build memories every step of the way. This team shows the strength that comes from being both a competitive team, dedicated to outperforming itself time and time again, and a friendly team that builds its bonds and friendships and becomes, above all else, a chill vibe. We’re excited to see what the next year has to offer, and to show the circuit how great it is to be a hurricane! Go ‘Canes!
- McGill University
McGill had a wonderful season this year, filled with both new and familiar destinations, as well as new and familiar faces! This year, we got to welcome an extremely talented cohort of first years, whose dedication was immediately apparent. We also had an incredibly talented class of seniors and older delegates, whose mentorship has been genuinely invaluable. As a team, we had so much fun travelling to nine conferences on the circuit, and pushing ourselves competitively. While it is not always easy to commute the lengths that we do, the experiences that come with competing are immeasurable, and the connections we got to form this year made it all worth it. The fun, cohesive environment our team fostered this season would have not been possible without our head delegate, Rose Cioffi. Rose will have a lasting effect on our training, competitiveness, and enjoyment of Model UN for years to come, and was one of, if not the biggest reason for our success this year. Alongside her team council, Hong Duc Cheng, Francesca Hayes, Brianne Bower, Magnolia Winsor, and Rian Reichel, thank you Rose for all you gave to our team this year. We would also like to thank all of our amazing delegates, who each uniquely contributed to such a memorable season. McGill once Mcgill twice!
- Boston University
This past year with MUN@BU was an adventure, with the new members bringing passion, and returning members providing guidance and mentorship in this past year. Community is a central pillar to MUN@BU, as the travel team bonded, competed, and succeeded from coast to coast at all the conferences we attended this past year. To Michael and Usra, the whole team thanks the both of you for stepping up to take the mantle for the team this past year. It was a long journey for the both of you and we’re so excited where you two head off next, MUN@BU wouldn’t have had the year we did without the two of you guiding the team to be the best we can be. Here’s to more early morning flights, conferences new and old, making new friends, and more next year. Go BU, Go BU, Go BU!
- Concordia University
The Concordia External Delegation are incredibly proud of our team’s achievements this year across the circuit. Whether it was attending more conferences than we’ve ever attended before, or the uncountable hours of driving we did to reach conferences, this has been a special year for a special team. Every member of our team, whether you joined us in January, or this is your Fourth Year on the team, has put so much effort into the team, and each of you have been key to our successes this year. CED is incredibly proud of everything each and every one of you have all accomplished and everything you have all put into this team. Our delegates, new and old, put everything they have into this club is what makes us special.
This year has been special, as for a second year running, we have had the honour of seeing a record number of new delegates join the team. We have truly enjoyed watching them all grow and develop as delegates and as people. This year has seen some very special moments for our team, including watching two delegates break our club’s points-in-a-year record, and winning Four Delegation Awards in our last Four Conferences of the year. This all could not have been achieved without the countless hours poured into this team by our outgoing President & Vice-President, Hudson Bonneau & Jacob Feser. Their leadership throughout the year was key to every aspect of this team’s successes, both in and out of committee. Once again, we want to thank everyone who participated on the team this year, as your grit and your determination are what make this team special, and what bring us our success. We can’t wait for next year, which will be even more exciting than this year! CED NUMBER ONE!!!!!
- Emory University
Emory won a Best Large at TechMUN and Outstanding Small at BarMUN, plus Best Large at 305MUN, Best Small at ArchMUN, and Outstanding Large at NoleMUN. - United States Military Academy at West Point
President Kennedy once said that diplomacy and defense are not substitutes for one another, for either alone would fail. The Model UN team at West Point understands this, and seeks to integrate the virtues of both into three responsibilities for its delegates as soldiers, diplomats, and scholars. On the podiums of friendly strife, Army MUN pursues competitive excellence, but never at the expense of the bonds forged with our civilian counterparts. Through its commitment to cooperation, trust, and fairness on the circuit, Army MUN will continue to foster the linkage of civilian-military relations, ensuring all we encounter leave with a better understanding of their armed forces. Go Army.
- University of Florida
UFMUN had a wonderful year, challenging itself with new projects, ideas, and goals, and we didn’t back down. This year saw incredible growth within the organization and incoming class, starting off hot with the most successful BeachMUN to date held in gorgeous St. Augustine. A big first for us, only a couple of months later, was the inaugural iteration of SwampMUN, helping us expand our outreach to the next generation and provide true opportunity to the future leaders in Model UN. Strong GatorMUNs and SUNMUNs were followed up by a streak of delegation awards from NoleMUN to UCBMUN, led by underclassmen eager to return next year. As we prepare for the ’26-’27 season, we are excited for all of the talented people who will be returning, but we wouldn’t be in this great spot without the wonderful seniors who led the club through their mentorship, innovation, and love for each and every member of this organization. Special shoutout to Noelle, Emme, Doug, Surya, Michel, and Naveen!
- University of Southern California
USC consistently won across conferences, including competitive ones such as HNMUN and ChoMUN, and at local ones such as LAMUN and SBIMUN.
- Yale University
The Model United Nations Team at Yale (MUNTY) ended our 2024-25 year with historic success, and that motivated us to strive for even more this season. The team stepped up to the challenge. All of our members, from the newest initiates to our graduating seniors, approached MUN with tenacity, energy, and a love that cannot be trained. Our achievements this year are to the credit of each of our members; thank you for being a part of this family.
This year, MUNTY navigated several uncharted paths. For the first year in our history, the team was led by two head delegates. Though unprecedented, they led with reflection, compassion, and determination. MUNTY also explored a new conference. In February, we attended McMUN for the first time in recent memory. Safe to say, our performance did not indicate a learning curve.
MUNTY has been a home to so many of us; a place where we feel empowered to be the most unabashed version of ourselves. A common refrain on our team is that MUNTY members are those friends who will attend our weddings. The indissoluble bonds that unite us are formed during late-night debriefs, chaotic weekends of travel and competition, dinner parties upstate with special guests (bats!), conversations in Sterling Library compelling enough to distract even the most dedicated student from their impending deadlines, and the coldest New Haven nights somehow warmed by our laughter. MUNTY is a truly special group, and we are so fortunate to have watched the community blossom and thrive in the past years.
Special thanks to our seniors, our board, and all of those who have contributed to the positive culture we strive to maintain and improve. For all of those moving on from Yale and MUNTY, we cannot wait to see all that you do. To the incoming board and rising sophomores, the 2026-27 circuit is not ready for you!!
Congratulations on an excellent year, MUNTY. Cheers to many more to come!
- Florida State University
The 2025–2026 season marked another incredible year for the Florida State University World Affairs Program! Our delegates embodied the unconquered spirit at conferences across the country, bringing home 5 delegation awards and nearly 150 points. The Program welcomed one of its most competitive recruitment classes in years, with new members accounting for nearly one-fifth of the team’s total points. At home in Tallahassee, the World Affairs Program proudly hosted the fifth iteration of NoleMUN this February––continuing our tradition of excellence on and off the circuit.
From meetings and tryouts to committees and conference socials, each and every member exemplified what it means to be an FSU Delegate with their grace, kindness, and spirit. We are so proud of the camaraderie, competitiveness, and creativity that each of our delegates brought to the circuit––even after the 12-hour drives and airplane naps. A special thank you to our incredible head delegates––Maddie, Isa, Mallory, and Ryan––whose passion, leadership, and mentorship have left a lasting legacy on the Program.
We are honored to have represented Florida State University this year, and we can’t wait to see what success the future holds! Go Noles!
- University of California, Santa Barbara
Model United Nations at the University of California, Santa Barbara is proud to be back in the Top 25! This privilege is owed to every single member of UCSB MUN, our executive board, and secretariat for both SBI and GauchoMUN for creating the team culture that exists today. We, as a team, rallied 5 conferences this year through parking tickets, snowstorms, the Amtrak stop in Chatsworth (if you know, you know), and the perpetual fear of being sniped in our Slack’s photo-sniping channel. The dedication, joy, and hard work of our team are exemplified in their character and actions in MUN, on UCSB’s campus, and beyond. To our outgoing members, thank you for all the memories, laughter, and excellence demonstrated in and out of committee. Your impact on this team will be remembered long after you graduate. To our new members, thank you for joining us on this wild ride of the 2025-2026 school year. We are so excited to see how you all continue to grow as delegates. Thank you to our wonderful executive board for allowing this team to exist the way it does. As well as to our head delegates (Byron, Jacob, Ruby, Ryan, and Sophia), your leadership was intrinsic to the growth of UCSB MUN. Finally, to our incoming executive board–thank you for your endless service (even just in the past month).
We look forward to the great things that await UCSB Model United Nations, and cannot wait to see you all on the circuit soon!
- University of Virginia
UVAMUN is extremely proud of each and every one of its members’ performances at all six of the conferences we travelled to in the past year. We started off strong in the fall with our newly improved New Member Program, bringing much of the UVA community across the country to CMUNNY, UNCMUNC, and BARMUN. We won Best Large at CMUNNY (rest in peace) for the second time in a row and furthered our team culture of competition, whimsy, and energy.
In the spring, we travelled to McMUN, &MUN, and LAMUN, in which the team demonstrated unwavering commitment and excellent performances as we got to know even more delegates and cultivate even more great connections across the circuit. We also had an extraordinary time hosting the circuit in Charlottesville for lots of good competition (and great socials) at VICS 30, and we brought home Outstanding Large from &MUN!
UVAMUN is so proud of its members and for having one of its greatest seasons yet, and we are so excited to bring even more of our best next year! Go Hoos and WAHOOWA!!!
- Northwestern University
Northwestern is thrilled to be back! We’ve had a season to be proud of, balancing hard work and determination in our competition with good-natured bonding and fun in our culture. It’s been a joy traveling the circuit this year, whether it was road-tripping to HOOSIERMUN, taking the CTA to CHOMUN, or jet setting to the coast, not just because of the conferences we’ve been lucky enough to spend our weekends at but because of the wonderful friendships we’ve made. As the 2025-26 executive board, we want to thank our returners for their dedication and leadership, our newcomers for coming in with earnest enthusiasm even when faced with new challenges, and our circuit friends for making committee awesomesauce! Till next year!
- University of Maryland
Maryland Model United Nations is proud to defend its Top 25 ranking for a second consecutive year. We are incredibly appreciative of this year’s leadership team, who filled the monumental shoes of our mentors who came before us. We are also grateful for the outstanding number of new delegates we welcomed into our program and are excited to see what they achieve going forward! UMDMUN is more than just a team; it’s a community that has been there for each other during the highest highs and lowest lows. Maryland delegates traveled multiple weekends in a row, demonstrating commitment to our team, as well as a passion for competition. Whether it is the late night drive back, or the early mornings heading to committee, we could not be more proud of our delegates, who helped us bring home our first large delegation award.
If you can expect one thing from us going forward, it’s that we will continue to strive for excellence and that the chanting of Roll Terps at closing ceremonies will only get louder. To world domination, may we be in charge!
