There are many definitions of success in Model UN, and awards are only one extrinsic way of measuring success. Nevertheless, awards serve to recognize both individual students and college teams as a whole for their accomplishments in leadership, research, public speaking, resolution-building, negotiation, and diplomacy.
Every year, the College MUN rankings celebrate the MUN teams that showed immense resilience by not only enduring despite the year’s challenges, but also succeeding at the highest level possible in collegiate Model UN.
Methodology
The World Division refers to the circuit of collegiate Model UN teams that are primarily run by college Head Delegates and primarily attend conferences hosted by college Model UN organizations, with the vast majority of those conferences featuring crisis committees. This ranking is only for the World Division.
The World Division Rankings uses a Cumulative Weighted Score Methodology. The Weighted Score Methodology is the same since Fall 2018 with modifications in conference weightings to reflect attendance and competitiveness this year. Conferences included in the calculations are listed below and grouped with their approximate peer conferences in terms of ranking. Awards data were provided by the conferences, and we could only use conferences that chose to provide data. We did our best to reach out to all conferences that we’re aware of.
Tiers are as follows for active conferences this year. Please note that the conference weightings take into account attendance as one of its criteria and some conferences experienced challenges related to COVID-19 this year; a conference’s tiering this year may not reflect its tiering in future years.

TOP 25 TEAMS
1. American University
American had the most individual awards, most gavels, and the most delegation awards on the circuit this year after winning at a circuit-record 14 conferences. The team took home eight delegation awards from NCSC, UCBMUN, VICS, &MUN, CMUNNY, NAMUN, CIAC, and NoleMUN. They also competed for delegation awards at ChoMUN and McMUN.
From the team: The American University Model United Nations Team has experienced many firsts over the course of this past year: Our first time in person since 2020, our first time earning delegation awards at a majority of conferences we attended, our first-ever conference with a 100% awards rate, and our highest ever first-place ranking this fall. AUMUN never failed to surprise our leadership with their excellence in both virtual and in-person competitive formats, extending the team’s established reputation for diplomacy and collaboration across the circuit. This unprecedented success is thanks to new methods for training and conference preparation, a reignited sense of camaraderie and community among members, and our growing “wall” of bricks that weighed our luggage down, but boosted our team spirit. Additionally, this team would not have accomplished what it has without our graduating seniors, who helped break this team into the top-5 for the very first time four years ago and provided crucial mentorship to bring us to where we are today. As we wave goodbye to them, we look to our new members and incoming leadership, whose unwavering dedication over this year inspires confidence for the future of AUMUN. It has been a privilege to serve as this year’s Head Delegate, and I look forward to seeing many more whales in the chat for our successes to come.
2. University of Chicago
UChicago had the second most gavels on the circuit and won delegation awards at half the conferences they attended. UChicago dominated at HNMUN, the most competitive conference on the circuit. This complemented large delegation awards at NCSC, UPMUNC, BarMUN, UCBMUN, and a small delegation award at TrojanMUN. The team hosted ChoMUN.
From the team: We knew that returning to in-person Model UN after a year of online conferences and zoom meetings was going to be difficult, but the Team never failed to meet that challenge with a smile and great attitude. This year was all about throwing out the rulebook; from starting off the year with Dance Camp, attending two new conferences, and institutionalizing the importance of expensive shampoo. Team has never looked more different, but our one constant in this transition is love that we have and will continue to have for one another. I see this love manifest on the team in so many different ways. It’s felt in airport potty gangs, unhinged laughter while doing three lines at 2AM, and the everlasting post-Sunday training lunches. Individually each of us is a force on campus and on the circuit, but what makes us great is how we constantly strive to make one another better and show our peers what they are capable of. From the McDonalds in the United Terminal at O’Hare to Aryan’s gross basement our Team constantly shows proves that the qualification that needed to be on UChicago MUN is kindness (and some meme making skill). I’m incredibly proud of the record that the Team has had this year, but I’m even more proud of the times that we have come together to provide support and encouragement for our friends and I hope those are the memories that we take with us. Even though Team will not always be meetings in Harper 130 or brunch at 5401 I know that for each of us Team will always mean home.
3. Florida International University
FIU received the second most individual awards across a circuit-high 14 conferences. They received delegation awards at half of them. The team’s ranking is buoyed by solid performances at HNMUN, ChoMUN, and McMUN alongside delegation awards at UCBMUN, VICS, and five smaller conferences.
From the team: With a travel team composed of over 70% freshmen and sophomores, it is clear that this year was only the beginning for many of the journeys of the delegates on our FIU team. Less than 5 delegates in our program had ever attended a collegiate in-person conference, posing a very unique challenge as we navigated the transition. Our students have continued to demonstrate adaptability, diplomacy, and their iconic branding to make this year a memorable one, all while balancing both in-person and online conferences throughout the season. This year we are thankful for all the memories we have made, happy tears we have cried, impactful lessons we have learned, and the great successes we have experienced. Additionally, we would like to give a special thank you to our remarkable head delegates: Sadie Testa-Secca, Alexander Sutton, and Jake Williams for their contributions in leading the team to its success this year. We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall. Paws up!
4. Georgetown University
Georgetown won the fourth most individual awards on the circuit. Delegation awards were all from the most competitive conferences: a breakthrough Best Large at HNMUN, Best Large at McMUN, Outstanding Large at ChoMUN, and Outstanding Large at UPMUNC. The team hosted NCSC.
From the team: Georgetown University Model United Nations Team had a stellar year on the circuit, especially considering the majority of its members are first year competitors in Model UN. We accumulated delegation awards at some of the most competitive conferences on the circuit and were especially excited to take home Best Large at our first ever HNMUN. Most importantly, the team navigated a return to in-person Model UN with an emphasis on inclusive team culture and quality bonding time. It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve as Head Delegate, and I cannot wait to see what the future of GUMUN holds! Hoya Saxa!
5. Claremont McKenna College
Claremont McKenna took home the fifth most individual awards. They competed as a large delegation near home to win Best Large at SBIMUN and TrojanMUN, and as a small delegation when traveling to win Best Small at ChoMUN and Outstanding Small at NCSC.
From the team: Last fall, CMCMUN returned to a changed MUN circuit and a brand new team. From the earliest days, we embraced the novelty of our transformed landscape — taking in the largest and best recruiting class ever, adding two new conferences to our circuit, restructuring and reimagining leadership, as well as prioritizing our team culture above all else. No one was prepared for what the result would be come May 2023. Our team picked up delegation awards at over half of the conferences it attended and instilled a culture of success from the bottom up. But more importantly, our team comes out of the pandemic stronger than ever — and not because of our competitive success. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our Internal Coordinator Hailey Wilson, the culture of our team was remade, losing absolutely none of the craziness but gaining all of the caring and support that this team has needed. Our president Kelsey Clarke made sure that competitiveness was never too far from anyone’s minds, and this team is indebted to all of her work behind the scenes to ensure the team’s success in the wake of COVID. The further efforts of the rest of CMCMUN leadership have ensured that this team’s future is brighter than ever. While our seniors leave the team with a heavy heart, they have the utmost confidence that next year’s team will put their indelible stamp on a team and a community that is only just getting started.
6. Florida State University
Florida State received six delegation awards. Highlights included Best Small at McMUN, Best Small at BarMUN, Best Large at UNCMUNC, Outstanding Large at VICS, and Outstanding Large at &MUN. The team hosted the inaugural NoleMUN.
From the team: After a year of online conferences, the FSU World Affairs Program came back to the circuit strong, traveling to nine conferences this year and finishing with Best Large Delegation at UNCMUNC and MUNE, Best Small Delegation at BarMUN and McMUN, and Outstanding Large at VICS and &MUN. This year was incredibly special to our team as we successfully executed the first iteration of our ranked conference NoleMUN, which will continue to serve as our contribution to the unique culture of the collegiate MUN circuit. Our success this year was made possible by the perseverance and hard work of our membership, many of whom had never competed in person before. Always willing to go the extra mile to help each other out, our team is strengthened by the level of support and comradery its membership shows for each other. The World Affairs Program is so excited for the year ahead and to have our new Director Ryan Villacorta lead the team to continue our success on the circuit. Go Noles!
7. The George Washington University
George Washington had three wins close to home: Best Large at VICS, Best Small at &MUN, and Best Small at UNCMUNC. The team did well across 11 conferences and competed for a delegation award at ChoMUN, McMUN, and UPMUNC.
From the team: The GWMUN travel team continued it’s stellar performance in the spring semester. Hot off a 5th place ranking for the fall semester, GW expanded its spring travel schedule to include NYUMUNC and &MUN for the first time in several years. Highlights for the team this semester were a best large delegation award at VICS and a best small delegation award at &MUN. When combined with a best small delegation award at UNCMUNC in the fall, GW has collected the most delegation awards in recent team memory. Along the way, GW delegates consistently collected indivual awards at every conference attended and left a lasting impression on the circuit. We are so proud of our accomplishments this year and cannot wait to return to the circuit in the fall!
8. University of California, Berkeley
Berkeley had strong performances in-state, winning best or outstanding large delegation awards at LAMUN, TrojanMUN, and SBIMUN. They also won an Outstanding Small at UNCMUNC and had the second most gavels at HNMUN. The team hosted UCBMUN.
From the team: The UC Berkeley Model United Nations team had one hell of a year, with a strong start at TrojanMUN and an even stronger finish at LAMUN. While we have certainly had a great year in terms of awards and rankings, it is the resilience of our team that shines the most. It has been a long year, full of changes and marked by a constantly looming pandemic, but our members—new and old—have proven their determination to overcome any and all odds. As a team that does not receive school funding, we find it important to acknowledge the extra effort our members put in to make traveling a reality, whether it be working part-time jobs or applying for numerous grants their commitment is remarkable. With a record number of members traveling this year and with a new definition for how big a Large Delegation can truly be—36 if you were wondering—the future of UCBMUN is brighter than ever. Our team would not be the same without the seniors, who have been there at every step to guide and nurture us, for which we are beyond grateful. As the baton is passed on to the next set of seniors and new Officers Board, we are certain that our team will continue to invoke the powers of Oski and remind the circuit that this is Bear Territory. Go Bears!
9. Boston University
Boston University won four Best Small Delegation awards at competitive conferences: HNMUN, ChoMUN, NCSC, and LAMUN. They are one of the best small delegations on the circuit. They also received Outstanding Large at McMUN. The team hosted BarMUN.
From the team: Through the tough but rewarding transition back to in-person Model UN, MUN@BU saw a year of unprecedented growth; in team size, MUN skills, connection with other schools, and a supportive and genuine team bond. With unique simulations, intensive training meetings, and too many theme parties to count, our team thrived being in the same room once again. This success reflected in a strong awards performance, seeing five delegation awards and an incredible individual showing from team members new and old. The MUN Board is so proud of all the hard work the team has put in this year, and we are infinitely grateful for their contributions to making our team the best it could be (and for the hundreds of Squid Game references along the way). From the reflecting pool of the National Mall to the hotel pool of the Universal City Hilton, it was you who truly made the year great. We are also so grateful for the leadership and guidance of MUN titan and outgoing BU Head Delegate Bella Newell, without whom we would not be where we are. Additionally, we want to thank our outgoing seniors, who we will miss endlessly. We are so excited for next year, and could not be more appreciative of a wonderful year of MUN!
10. Harvard University
Harvard won three delegation awards: Best Large at ChoMUN, Outstanding Large at LAMUN, and Outstanding Small at &MUN. They also did well at NCSC and NYUMUNC. The team hosted HNMUN.
From the team: To paraphrase Big Sean: last year we took an L, but this year we bounced back. The sands of time drift through eternity’s hourglass with an agonizing sameness. But every once in a while, serendipity strikes, freezing eternity into a morsel, a moment, a thing to be savored and admired and sung about in legend for years to come. For Harvard, this year was that serendipity incarnate. A metaphor, perhaps. If Harvard were a swimmer (because all of its head dels definitely CAN swim), we have been adrift in the ocean for many years. Our only goal has been to keep our head above water, avoiding the eternal dark below. Each breath, each conference, a battle; and the future, but an unknowable distant idea. But as we treaded in that endless abyss, this year, the glowing light of a savior became visible over the horizon. Salvation, in the form of a new generation hungry to bring honor to their forefathers by going further than they had ever gone. Harvard was rescued, saved, lifted from the sea, no longer fighting for each breath but able to thrive and rise to the ascents of the heavens, on the wings of our glorious freshmen and new class of delegates. Semper mother-hecking veritas.
11. University of California, Los Angeles
UCLA won delegation awards at half of the eight conferences it attended: Outstanding Large at UCBMUN, Outstanding Small at BarMUN, Best Small at SBIMUN, and Outstanding Small at MUNE. The team hosted LAMUN.
From the team: As MUN at UCLA’s head delegates, we are so proud of how much our delegates have grown and how much they have accomplished this year! While the transition back to traveling after a year of virtual conferences had its challenges, we are so grateful for the amazing experiences and connections we’ve made with each other and others on the circuit this year. This year, we welcomed an unprecedented number of new delegates and, as a result, expanded access to traveling and competing, including taking our largest delegation to date to a conference this season. None of our achievements this year, including the four delegation awards we received, would have been possible without the hard work of our enthusiastic new members and dedicated returning members. We would like to thank each and every one of you for the countless hours put into attending trainings, competing, and stepping up to ensure that UCLA continues to be a competitive and friendly face on the circuit. We hope that despite all the challenges of the transition back to in-person MUN, UCLA’s travel team had as much fun traveling as us. We know next year’s travel team will be in the capable hands of our new Head Delegates, and that they will continue to propel the team’s success to new heights!
12. University of Virginia
Virginia had its best performances close to home, including the most gavels at NCSC, an Outstanding Large at UNCMUNC, and the highest weighted score at &MUN. The team hosted VICS.
From the team: UVAMUN was eager to return to in-person conferences this semester. Once again donning our classic western business attire, our delegates traveled across the country with a zeal for competition. However, our most memorable moments are not from Closing Ceremonies, but the little moments we shared as a team. Whether it be the parties on the Range or the early morning flights or the hastily-arranged team dinners, UVAMUN grew into a family over the course of this past year.
We would like to thank everyone who made this season a success, from the wider International Relations Organization to the members of the Travel Team Cabinet. Most importantly, we would like to thank every member of the team for their hard work this year, without which none of this would have been possible. We loved getting to know you all better this year and making memories with you on the circuit. While it is with heavy hearts that we must say goodbye to our departing fourth-years, we are so excited about what the future of UVAMUN may bring and look forward to next season!
13. University of Southern California
USC performed best out of state and took home a pair of Outstanding Small delegation awards at ChoMUN and UPMUNC to complement consistent awards on the West Coast. The team hosted TrojanMUN.
From the team: MUNSC is extremely proud of our ever growing, vibrant community that has bloomed since resuming in-person meetings and competition. This fall, we were delighted to host TrojanMUN for the first time since 2019, all thanks to the tireless efforts of our incredible Secretariat– especially our eldest members who returned from retirement to lead the way. Our members replicated the same passion and commitment within the following semester to host SCMUN, putting in countless hours to ensure a smooth transition for high schoolers who had yet to compete in a non-virtual setting. We’ve seized the opportunity to send our members– many for the first time– to embark on an in-person circuit, even managing to acquire delegation awards at UPMUNC and CHOMUN, as well as a few gavels along the way. At the close of this year, we have been able to welcome two dedicated, lively new member classes; they have gone above and beyond to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to our team as delegates on the circuit, and as members of the MUNSC community. MUNSC has come incredibly far since its virtual days of training, exceeding all expectations in a post-online year! We could not be more excited for what has yet to come. For our team: 2022-2023 is gonna be a movie! FIGHT ON!!!
14. University of Miami
Miami is back on the circuit and back in the Top 25 despite attending only four conferences. They competed for a delegation award at ChoMUN and NCSC, and won Outstanding Large at BarMUN.
From the team: The University of Miami Model United Nations team entered this year after an almost 2 year hiatus from the circuit, not knowing what to expect. We are an extremely social team, spending a lot of our time on building this sense of family amongst ourselves. Going back to in-person Model UN meant we could once again travel as a group of friends, meet new people, and represent our school with pride. Because of covid, we faced a lot of challenges as we geared up to compete on the circuit again. Due to budget constraints, we were only able to attend four conferences this year, as opposed to our normal six conferences. With these new changes, our team developed a vigorous commitment to making sure these few traveling experiences counted. We were halfway to the airport when we found out we won Outstanding Large Delegation at BARMUN. It came as such an amazing surprise but really motivated our team to continue the hard work as we progressed through conference season. Whether it was creating our first annual Halloween Party, finding out how terrible we are at volleyball, or discussing crisis arcs at airports and concerning passerbys, we have used this common interest in Model UN to create a fun and loving community. We are so thankful to have such supportive seniors who stayed with our team through these four years, and are excited to see how our younger members carry on our growing success on the circuit.
15. Concordia University
Concordia is the highest ranked team from Canada after winning awards across 10 conferences, which included a Best Small at NYUMUNC and Outstanding Small at CIAC. The team hosted CONMUN.
From the team: Concordia’s External Delegation’s success on the circuit this year is a testament to the hard work that every single member of our team has put into our conferences this year.. Most of our delegation team members did not know what Model UN meant 9 months ago, and the amount of dedication and commitment seen throughout was our sole reason for our success. This year, we overhauled our travel schedule, attended more conferences than ever before, and implemented our most rigorous training program to date. Our whole team rose to meet the occasion and some members even traveled to conferences back, to back, to back. This speaks to the passion that every single member of CED has for MUN. This passion translated quickly and inherently to results. We brought back more awards, gavels and delegations awards than ever before. It has been an honor to work alongside the best delegates in Canada and with so many members returning next year, the idea of what we can achieve nest year makes us more thrilled than ever!
16. The Johns Hopkins University
Johns Hopkins is a rising team in the Top 25. They had the second most gavels at ChoMUN and the highest weighted score at NYUMUNC among their wins across six conferences.
From the team: After breaking into the Top-25 last year, HopMUN is proud to have another dominant showing this year. 2021-2022 was HopMUN’s most competitively successful year by far — TRIPLING our total for awards won in a season. Highlights include Best Large Delegation at NYUMUNC (first delegation award ever!), gavelling BOTH sides of the ChoMUN JCC, and many first-time freshmen winning at HNMUN. By recruiting a very strong incoming class that consistently attended conferences, revamping our training program to focus on crisis and scenario-based exercises, and creating a new head-delegate training program, the team thrived not due to the success of a few but the perseverance of many. This return back to in-person wasn’t easy. Traveling back and forth from Baltimore to NCSC every day at 6 AM and navigating the endless COVID-19 obstacles, our resolve was tested. Yet, HopMUN rose to the occasion through a renewed focus on team culture. Post-mock conference team dinners and hanging out on the “beach” forged an emphasis on inclusivity and sheer enthusiasm has made HopMUN not just a club, but a home. We would like to thank its graduating members for their mentorship and especially our Head Delegates Varahunan Mathiyalakan, Kylie Ning, and Yuwen Wang who were instrumental in motivating, supporting, and leading our team to its great success. You weren’t just a model of the UN but a model for it!
17. College of William & Mary
William & Mary primarily competed in the more competitive conferences and won awards across nine conferences. Their best result was at ChoMUN. The team hosted &MUN.
From the team: Over 9 conferences, William & Mary returned to the in-person circuit with a team consisting of primarily freshmen and sophomores eager to learn. Our team’s culture focuses on diplomacy and collaboration, guiding our training and leading us to garner individual awards at each of the conferences we attended. From early morning flights to post committee debriefs and team drives, William & Mary’s teams fostered deep connections with each other and built leadership to strengthen the future of our team and organization at large. W&M Travel MUN is so excited to grow our program in the coming year and is so grateful to all of our delegates and friends on the circuit for their support!
18. Clark University
Clark is a Top 25 mainstay and won awards at nine conferences this year. They won Outstanding Small at McMUN and CMUNNY.
From the team: After losing several seniors and moving forward with a new leadership model, ClarkMUN expected this to be a rebuilding year and was blown away by the team’s performance. This year, ClarkMUN managed to pull two delegation awards (equal to our previous six seasons combined) and our most gavels ever despite fielding one of the youngest teams in our history. This was partially due to the expansion of our conference slate, including our return to multiple conferences that were canceled due to COVID last year; however, it was mostly a result of the team’s tenacity in light of unexpected events, especially with a mixture of in-person and online conferences, COVID concerns while traveling, and various travel-team shenanigans on Saturday nights after the end of committee. Additionally, the team’s ClarkMUN high school conference returned to an in-person medium for the first time in two years, helping the team get on the right track and officially return from the pandemic. The team thanks its retiring Eboard members (Cate, Nassim, and Evan) and wishes the next generation the best of luck next year! Fiat Lux.
19. United States Military Academy at West Point
West Point is back on the circuit for the first time since 2020. Historically one of the best small delegations, the team took home a pair of Best Smalls at LAMUN and TrojanMUN.
From the team: When facing a return to the circuit after an 18-month covid related hiatus, the West Point Model UN team had a daunting task ahead of them. With a long history of success in Model UN, the team needed to draw on its past, while also adjusting to a new playing field. Many in the team had never traveled or competed on the circuit, and the senior members had to re-adjust to Model UN after over a year off. Thankfully due to the hard work of head dels, Dennis Rice and Noah Kim, extremely strong new members, and the team’s commitment to research and practice, West Point Model UN was able to make an extremely strong return to the circuit. With 3 delegation awards, numerous gavels, and dozens of individual awards, the West Point team is reinvigorated after a triumphant year. Looking ahead, the team is excited for next year, and will continue to grow West Point Model UN as a competitive team for discussion, debate, and the pursual of a high level of performance and achievement. The team is very thankful for the friendliness and kindness our delegates were shown by other teams as we re-entered the circuit this year and cannot wait to continue to compete next year.
20. University of California, Santa Barbara
UCSB has kept its Top 25 status with awards across five conferences, and did their best at UCBMUN and TrojanMUN. This makes five teams from the state of California in the Top 25. The team hosted SBIMUN.
From the team: This year has had lots of twists and turns. From temporarily going back online due to Covid surges and navigating life returning in person, our team has continually shown tenacity and dedication. With a talented class of college students the team has continued to advance and grow our club both competitively and culturally. From the millions of hours spent stressing in the lib, to late night denny’s trips, our club continues to demonstrate the true family aspect we have. Every moment spent with members of the UCSB MUN family have been the highlights of our college career. To our departing members we wish them the best of luck on their future endeavors as they take their MUN skills into real life and power del the world. To the rest of the continuing team, we can’t wait to see the growth and success of UCSB MUN next year, as we put our all into making this club the best possible. UCSB MUN it truly has been a good life for real.
21. University of Florida
Florida is back in the Top 25 by consistently winning individual awards across seven conferences. This makes four teams from the state of Florida in the Top 25.
From the team: UFMUN has had an incredible year thanks to some amazing people, including hardworking first years and a spectacular graduating class who made us proud at many conferences. The delegates of UFMUN have a variety of interests and strengths that were able to shine in committees across the country, with new and veteran members competing side by side. We could not be more proud to have risen from top 75 to the top 25 for the first time since 2015, gaining gavels in both online and in-person conferences. Whether we were fervently prepping for an upcoming conference or getting some sun on a team bonding hike, this past year has been defined by incredible growth for the UFMUN family. We are so excited to carry this momentum forward and welcome new delegates into a new year of conferences, travel, and team shenanigans of all sorts. It’s great to be a Florida gator, and we at UFMUN are eager to share that greatness with the collegiate circuit as we reintroduce our college conference, SunMUN in the coming year. Whether it be in committee or at our conference, the delegates of UFMUN look forward to seeing our friends on the circuit for another year of debate and diplomacy.
22. Champlain College
Champlain College breaks into the Top 25 for the first time in team history after winning delegation awards at two of the three Canadian conferences it attended.
From the team: At the beginning of the Fall 2021, Champlain College MUN welcomed its biggest number of new delegates in its history, full of raw potential. Hitting off with our very own conference, CCMUN 2021, the team was driven by the strong leadership of our club executives and dedicated delegates who ensured the success of our delegation. Indeed, CCMUN shone at numerous ranked and unranked conferences: we were awarded “Outstanding Large Delegation” both at NAMUN and CONMUN and received countless of other individual awards. Moreover, CCMUN is currently ranked as the highest CEGEP in Quebec, something that was unimaginable, even a year ago. This time last year, concerns were whether CCMUN would survive the pandemic and the online format; this year, we are busy striving and reaching for higher skies with our amazing team that stood united through challenges and successes. We are tremendously grateful for the incredible experiences that were presented to us this year, as none of it would have been possible without its delegates and executive members. The immense progress of the past MUN season is only the beginning of CCMUN’s achievements on the circuit!
23. Queen’s University
Queen’s University had solid performances across three Canadian conferences, including the second most gavels at McMUN.
From the team: Our first conference of the year was McMUN where Queen’s earned our most gavels in team history. We sent a small delegation to NAMUN hosted by the University of Toronto, where some new delegates got valuable experience and showed very well, including a Book Award for Best Position Paper. A highlight of our year was winning Outstanding Small Delegation at CONMUN, not only for the feeling of team achievement but also because it was our first in-person conference since HNMUN 2020. The transition for Queen’s between online and in-person training and competition was marked by uncertainty at times. However, we were helped by veteran and graduating delegates and a very exciting and capable group of new hires to the team. We could not have had the success that we did without the passion and energy demonstrated by everyone, new hire and graduating del. The Queen’s MUN team has a bright future ahead and we are all so excited for next season. Not only are we looking forward to the likelihood of a full in-person year, 2022-2023 will also hopefully mark our team’s return to American in-person conferences. Our veteran dels hold strong and happy memories of travel and tradition at these conferences and we cannot wait for new dels to make them, too. Thanks to our entire team, our extended executive, the Queen’s International Affairs Association Leadership, and to everyone who helped make this year of MUN what it was. Cha Gheill!”
24. The Ohio State University
Ohio State is back in the Top 25 after completing a national schedule of seven conferences. The highlight was winning the Best Small Delegation at UPMUNC.
From the team: Ohio State Model United Nations saw a year of unprecedented growth and success. Returning to the circuit after a year of online Model UN, the team was able to come together and make this year one of the most successful years for Ohio State MUN. Although the team won awards at every conference attended this year, as well as two delegation awards, it was the social bonds within the team that made this a memorable year. With a return to in-person conferences, many of the new delegates were able to develop as leaders, breaking past many of the challenges placed before them to find success on the circuit. Whether it was navigating financial setbacks, or long car rides, the team was able to come together and create a truly unique community at THE Ohio State University. We want to thank our MUN Council, who provided excellent leadership and guidance through these challenges, and all of the delegates, who constantly inspired the leadership to find new ways to help them on their journey. This year was one of many trials, but the bonds made on this team were truly inspiring. We want to thank all of our delegates for making this year so successful and wish them luck as they continue to create Ohio State’s legacy on the circuit. GO BUCKS!
25. University of Pennsylvania
UPenn is back on the circuit for the first time since 2020. Awards at HNMUN and VICS shows the team’s potential for the future years. The team resumed hosting UPMUNC.
