Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) Liveblog: Opening Ceremonies

Nearly 3,200 delegates from 37 countries are at this weekend’s Harvard Model United Nations Conference (HMUN). Secretary-General Hunter Richard leads a 200-person Secretariat across 29 committees.

Last night’s opening ceremonies was more light-hearted than other conferences’. Hunter’s opening speech had a few jokes and various pop culture references, followed by a performance by Harvard’s jazz acappella group the Din & Tonics. US Ambassador Thomas Pickering then gave the keynote speech. Check it out:
