2023-2024 North American College Model U.N. Final Rankings (World Division)

There are many definitions of success in Model UN, and awards are only one extrinsic way of measuring success. Nevertheless, awards serve to recognize both individual students and college teams as a whole for their accomplishments in leadership, research, public speaking, resolution-building, negotiation, and diplomacy.

Every year, the College MUN rankings celebrate the MUN teams that showed immense resilience by not only enduring despite the year’s challenges, but also succeeding at the highest level possible in collegiate Model UN.

Methodology

The World Division refers to the circuit of collegiate Model UN teams that are primarily run by college Head Delegates and primarily attend conferences hosted by college Model UN organizations, with the vast majority of those conferences featuring crisis committees. This ranking is only for the World Division.

The World Division Rankings uses a Cumulative Weighted Score Methodology. The Weighted Score Methodology is the same since Fall 2018 with modifications in conference weightings to reflect attendance and competitiveness this year. Conferences included in the calculations are listed below and grouped with their approximate peer conferences in terms of ranking.

Awards data were provided by the conferences, and we could only use the conferences that chose to provide data. We did our best to reach out to all conferences that we’re aware of. Tiers change every year based on data and are as follows for this year:

HNMUN
McMUN
NCSC
ChoMUN
UNCMUNC, BarMUN
TrojanMUN, UPMUNC, VICS, UCBMUN, LAMUN, NYUMUNC
&MUN, NAMUN, CONMUN, SBIMUN, CIAC
SUNMUN, CMUNNY, DawgMUN, NoleMUN, MUNE
305MUN, AIRMUNC, SGMUN, FCMUN, HopMUNC

TOP 25 TEAMS

  1. American University

AU American is the #1 team on the college circuit for the third year in a row. This is a rare three-peat accomplished only one other time in the history of the rankings (UChicago 2014-2016). American attended close to half the conferences available and was the only team to achieve over 100 individual awards this year. They also won five delegation awards, including Outstanding Large at an increased weighted McMUN.

From the team: American University is incredibly proud of our competitive season, and the dedication shown by each and every member of AUMUN to get us here! Throughout the 2023-2024 season, we’ve built on our financial accessibility, allowing members to travel and compete throughout North America. Whether it was in Boston, Atlanta or Los Angeles- we are always in awe of the passion, drive, and skill of each member of our competitive team! To our seniors- thank you for your tireless effort, through online-Model UN or during our transition to in-person competition. Your work saw our organization through its four most successful competitive years to date. To our new members and underclassmen- thank you for your willingness to join our community, to travel and compete, and we can’t wait to see how you grow throughout the rest of your time at American. Here’s to next season: to more potlucks, water balloon fights, late-night prep sessions and (hopefully) working Amtraks. The future of AUMUN is in good hands with all of you. Go Eagles!

  1. Harvard University

Harvard

Harvard has achieved its highest rank ever after winning a circuit-high 9 delegation awards this year including Best Large at ChoMUN, Best Large at NCSC, and Best Small at McMUN. Those awards included the most gavels on the circuit and the second most individual awards overall. Harvard also hosted HNMUN.

From the team: This season, Harvard ICMUN returned to the circuit with arms full of celsius, minds indoctrinated by Lionel Messi, and hearts motivated by a dream. We hopped on many 5am flights across the country, sending babies and old dawgs alike to nine conferences, even splitting the team one weekend! This dream delivered us endless joy, circuit besties, painful post-del-social Sunday mornings, and numerous individual and delegation awards. None of it would have been possible without our absolutely insane freshmen, our killer leadership team who kept the vibes high and the team solvent, and the old washed-up seniors who lent wisdom every step of the way. We are absolutely indebted to the fantastic individuals who led ICMUN through our highest performing season ever: The ‘23-’24 Head Dels, YORK (Vivian, Calvin, Kaleena, and Annabelle), who ensured that the team was always supported, motivated, and empowered to compete at their best. We are so grateful for all they have given to this program and the legacy they have created. The ‘24 – ‘25 Head Dels, LOAD (Liana, Omar, Alice, and Dan), are excited to pick up where they’ve left off! Semper mother-hecking veritas.

  1. Georgetown University

georgetown

Georgetown won the second most delegation awards and third most individual awards on the circuit. The team won Best or Outstanding Large at ChoMUN, UNCMUNC, VICS, UPMUNC, &MUN, CMUNNY, and MUNE. Georgetown also hosted an increasingly competitive and larger NCSC.

From the team: Georgetown University Model United Nations had a record-breaking competitive year, winning a mind-blowing seven delegation awards and demonstrating our team’s unmatched consistency and dominance in all committee formats. We pride ourselves on not letting tryouts or travel costs prevent anyone from competing, allowing Team GUMUN to bring 65 students to conferences across North America this year. GUMUN could not be prouder of our team members, the vast majority of which are underclassmen, who sacrifice so much to “land the plane” at even the most challenging conferences and cultivate an incredible culture of success on the team. GUMUN’s success would also not have been possible without the devotion of our C-Staffers, who spend hours of their free time handling logistics, coaching our delegates, constructing fierce conference teams, and fostering an inclusive and accessible team environment, all while competing (and almost always winning) themselves! We are so proud to have a team that is both feared and respected across the circuit for its hard-working delegates and exceptional sportsmanship. GUMUN has a bright future ahead under the leadership of our next Conferences Coordinator, Emma Wong, and the rest of C-Staff. Hoya Saxa!

  1. Boston University

BU

Boston University has achieved its highest rank ever. Their standout performances came at the two most competitive conferences this year: coming in #1 in weighted score at HNMUN despite missing out on a delegation award due to ratio, and winning Best Large Delegation at McMUN. The team was also well respected as a popular pick in the Delegate’s Choice for Best Team. They also hosted BarMUN.

From the team: You can’t know MUN@BU until you know Sabrina Carpenter’s masterpiece, Nonsense. Much like the song, which was the team’s anthem, MUN@BU was a game-changer this year. Apart from its unmistakable goofiness and team bonding, MUN@BU greatly expanded its circuit presence in the 2023-24 season. It traveled the most number of individual delegates it has ever done and had one of its largest and most successful years in program history. However, what made MUN@BU’s year most special was the tight-knit community it formed between its members. From the sleepless slumber parties of GA research the night before a conference to the piles of emptied Celsius cans in each hotel room trash bin, MUN@BU faced every challenge it came across this year together and as a family. Under the leadership of outgoing co-Head Delegates Senthil Meyyappan and Adam Liu, MUN@BU won 4 delegation awards but many more core memories with an amazing group of people, all while helping to staff as well as host BU’s annual collegiate MUN conference, BarMUN, in the Fall, and its sister conference for high schoolers, BosMUN, in the Spring. Go Terriers!

  1. University of Chicago

U Chicago

UChicago won 6 delegation awards at 7 conferences to maintain its place in the Top 5 despite attending the fewest conferences of any team in the Top 15. Key wins included Outstanding Large at HNMUN and NCSC and an Outstanding Small at McMUN. They hosted ChoMUN.

From the team: The UChicago Model United Nations team triumphed in their 7 conferences over the course of the academic year, earning 6 delegations award in total. From braving the travel logistics of leaving the MidWest, monumenting in DC, early morning waffle houses, McBantz in freezing weather, and of course, a whole lot of diplomacy and debate, we are so proud of and grateful for everyone who competed or trained with us this year, and are excited to see where the team goes in the future years!

  1. Concordia University

Concordia

Concordia’s consistent ascent up the rankings — the sixth year in a row they’ve had a higher ranking than the previous year — has taken them to the cusp of the top five, and this is the team’s highest rank ever. This is also tied for the highest rank ever by a Canadian team (McGill 2020-21). Concordia had the second highest weighted score at McMUN to complement six delegation awards. They also hosted CONMUN.

From the team: We are so incredibly grateful and humbled by the all-star performance our team had this year! We could not have won six delegation awards this year without all hands on deck: From our freshmen delegates up to our most senior leaders, everyone contributed and made each other stronger than we have ever been before. Sending almost fifty people to at least one conference this year, thirty-three different amazing individuals brought an award back home to Montreal with us! Beyond the tremendous success we had on the circuit, Concordia’s rise in recent years can be attributed to our emphasis on inclusivity, diversity in individuals and opinions. Harnessing the unique backgrounds and strengths of our members has allowed us to build strong team dynamics and ultimately resulted in our rising success these past few years, whether that is through our exponentially growing conference CONMUN or the delegation team. Lastly, we want to thank everyone who has supported us through our successes and failures, which got us where we are today. More to come from us and the next generation of delegates! See you all on the circuit!

  1. Florida International University

FIU

FIU is prolific at traveling to many conferences, and received the fourth most individual awards on the circuit along the way. Their five delegation awards came from BarMUN, UNCMUNC, &MUN, NYUMUNC, and 305MUN.

From the team: Once again, FIU Model UN has distinguished itself from other top teams. Priding ourselves on adapting to any circumstances, this team fought to the very end of the circuit season for every point. With one of the most diverse teams in the collegiate circuit, our delegates were hungry to compete in every GA, Spec, and Crisis all while making long lasting relationships with the greater MUN world. We are beyond proud of every member of this team whether it was their 10th conference or their 1st. Carrying their Panther Pride into every conference, this team created great memories we won’t forget. Memories like anticipating what awards were while on a flight back home, deciding where to eat (but almost always ordering asian cuisine), or calculating how far our committees were from the hotel! We are so grateful for these moments and we would like to thank Marek Kong our Program Coordinator for his consistent passion and aid throughout each week! We also want to thank our Leadership team consisting of our 4 Head Delegates, who led us through each challenging conference with the utmost confidence, Mia Rodriguez, Michael Ojeda, Mikele Mancuso, and Carlos Santiago, as well as our Head of Research, Archer Amon, Secretary General of FIMUN 36, Jason Salguero, plus our two Social Chairs, Camila Flores Corsini and Isabella Balbi Masso!  We are taking the momentum from this year and expanding it to even greater heights this upcoming Fall. Go Panthers and Paws Up!!

  1. University of California, Los Angeles
UCLA

UCLA is the highest ranked team among six Top 25 teams from California, which may be an all-time high from a single state. The team was well-liked (based on its popularity in receiving All-Star and Best Chair/Crisis Director votes) and performed well. Their delegation awards came from NCSC, UCBMUN, SBIMUN, and CONMUN. The team hosted LAMUN.

From the team: The travel team of Model UN at UCLA undeniably achieved new heights of success this year, all due to the tenacity of our returning members and the passion and enthusiasm of our new members. Beyond the four delegation awards across the circuit and the countless individual awards, every single member of our travel team showed incredible fortitude, resilience, and growth this year. We continued team traditions, such as park nights, hotel karaoke, and maintaining our status as the nicest team on the circuit but also forged new traditions and relationships. As the graduating head delegates, we are so infinitely proud of this team’s unwavering dedication and infectious energy. Thank you so much for making this team feel like a family and a home. As you trailblaze your way across the circuit and reach greater heights in the next year, we hope you keep Hazel’s duck pins, Shrinidhy’s sappy speeches, and Ashi’s infamous spiels in your hearts.

  1. Florida State University

FSU

Florida State was pretty dominant across the smaller Southern conferences; five of their six delegation awards came from VICS, MUNE, SUNMUN, DawgMUN, AIRMUNC. They also won an Outstanding Small at ChoMUN. In total, the team had the fifth most individual awards and third most gavels on the circuit this year. They hosted NoleMUN.

From the team: Throughout this past year, Florida State University saw incredible success both on the collegiate circuit and on campus. With one of our most competitively successful recruiting classes to date, the World Affairs Program has truly flourished. Our delegates have excelled at home and away, highlighting FSU’s unconquered spirit. This year, the Program traveled to ten conferences from coast to coast and hosted NoleMUN III, the third iteration of our ranked conference in Tallahassee, FL. Our delegates took home seventy-six individual awards, earning Florida State six delegation awards over the course of this year. Notably, over a quarter of these awards were gavels and many earned by first-year delegates. These achievements can all be attributed to our fantastic delegates, their hard work and dedication have been truly inspiring. Thanks to our amazing team, it is no puzzle that our year has been so extraordinary, and we could not be more proud. Many thanks to our amazing outgoing Director, Bailey Vandewalle. Thank you for everything you have given to this team and for all that you are. We look forward to seeing what our team will accomplish next year!

  1. The George Washington University

GWU

The GW team was its usual self — giving members tons of opportunities by attending over half the conferences on the circuit and focusing more on individual awards rather than worrying about ratios for delegation awards. The team’s consistency enabled them to return into the Top 10 this year.

From the team: It was another year of big and huge wins for GWMUN! Whether it was the team’s record-breaking performances at some of the most competitive conferences on the circuit, expanding our travel schedule to the West Coast, or welcoming one of our strongest Cadet classes in recent memory, we are so proud of the team’s effort this season. Despite a continually more competitive circuit, GWMUN stayed true to its core values: honor and love of the game. From the beginning, our team consistently espoused those values, making a constant impact across the circuit both competitively and socially, and we are so excited to see this team’s continued growth. But, more importantly, the memories made were even more impactful; the Altos, George Santos cameos, ~CMUNNY~, trips to Eggy’s Diner/Colonial Williamsburg, MUNctions, hot seats, and “take me to McMUN!”s will never be forgotten. As we close off on another year of winning, a special thanks goes to this year’s Apparatus: Head Delegate Parth Badhwar, Vice Head Delegate Matt Hartman, and Assistant Head Delegates Faith Farley and Ryon Hovey. Raise High, and see you next year!

  1. University of California, Berkeley

UCB

Berkeley’s strategy has been consistent over the years — they rack up probably the most frequent flier miles by flying to almost half the conferences on the circuit from the West Coast. The team consistently wins many individual awards along the way. They also hosted UCBMUN.

From the team: The UC Berkeley Model United Nations team had an exciting year, with a strong start at CMUNNY and a great finish at LAMUN. While we have certainly had a great year in terms of performance, our team’s resilience shines the most. It has been a long year, full of changes and challenges but our members—new and old—have proven their determination to overcome all odds. As a team that does not receive much university funding, we must acknowledge the extra effort our delegates put in to make traveling a reality. Whether it be through working part-time jobs or applying for numerous grants, their commitment is remarkable. With a record number of members traveling this year, the future of UCBMUN is brighter than ever. Our team would not be the same without the hard work of our Head Delegates (Maanas Shah, Dylan Nokleby, Drishti Gupta & Christina Mueller), who have been there to guide and nurture us — for which we are beyond grateful. As the baton is passed on to the next set of Officers, we are certain that our team will continue to remind the circuit that this is Bear Territory. Go Bears!!

  1. McGill University

mcgill

McGill is once again ranked #12 after consistently doing well at conferences like HNMUN and ChoMUN. The development of the Canadian circuit has also enabled McGill to have opportunities such as winning Best Large at CONMUN and Best Small at NAMUN among their four delegation awards. McGill’s college conference, McMUN, has distanced itself in competitive weight ahead of NCSC and ChoMUN.

From the team: McGill’s Delegation Team has accomplished so much this year, both on the circuit and off. This year, we have seen our new delegates grow into forces of nature, and our senior delegates grow into mentors and leaders. Our team truly found its competitive groove, and we are incredibly proud of the standards of passion, integrity, and perseverance our delegates set on the circuit. We faced our fair share of challenges this year – from leadership changes to the “crisis crisis”, all of which we were able to navigate because of the unwavering commitment and drive of our delegates. Most importantly, we were able to grow into a more tight-knit, inclusive group, and we retained our focus on the most important aspect of this team – the community. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support and dedication of our Head Delegate Ben Merbaum and the rest of our team council. We are eternally grateful for their contributions, as well as the hard work of our delegates, and cannot wait to build on this legacy next year.

  1. United States Military Academy at West Point

West Point is on an upward trend in its rebuild after the pandemic with its third straight year of improvement in the rankings, and is once again one of the best small delegations on the circuit. The team won Outstanding Small at HNMUN and NCSC, Best Small at VICS, and Best Large at CIAC.

From the team: Diplomacy is not always at the forefront of conversations about the armed forces, especially at the college level. This is something the Model UN team at West Point has set out to change. Through cooperation in MUN, the West Point team educated America’s future Army officers this year by working with civilian colleges on the circuit and in diplomatic events abroad. While striving for competitive success, West Point continues to prioritize cooperation, communication, and fairness on the circuit as one of the few links between civilian college students and their military counterparts. The team looks forward to improving civil-military relations on the podiums of friendly strife—Go Army

  1. Claremont McKenna College

Claremount

Claremont McKenna had a solid year winning awards at many conferences. Its best performances were on the West Coast with Best Large Delegation awards at UCBMUN and TrojanMUN and Best Small at LAMUN. They also attended WorldMUN in Taipei, which is not part of the rankings but is a great and unique international experience for their team.

From the team: At a total of ten conferences, CMCMUN members enjoyed team dinner, gossipped at nightly debriefs, brainstormed arc ideas, competed in heated games of fishbowl, and cheered for one another at closing ceremonies. Without fail, these experiences culminated in chants of “team comes first,” a reminder of the legacy of love this team has cultivated for years. This year, the team achieved so much. Besides launching a new community outreach program with local high schools, tripling the size of our own conference at McKenna MUN XI, adding new conferences in new cities to our schedule, and taking Taipei by storm, the team welcomed an amazing class of new members to our community. CMCMUN is small but mighty because every single member of our team contributes so much. We are so excited to see how the new members of our family will change this team for the better.

15. University of Georgia

ug

Georgia is on the rise after attending many conferences and breaks into the Top 15 for its highest rank ever. Their delegation awards came from &MUN, CONMUN, and nearby MUNE. To complement the team’s rise and the recent proliferation of Southern conferences, they hosted their inaugural DAWGMUN.

From the team: This past year, the UGA Model UN team has seen success like never before. We created a conference team that triumphantly helped us to host our very first DAWGMUN, traveled internationally for the first time, and only had two cars break down! Due to expanding our team to twice the size it was last year, we saw remarkable skill in our new members, and are thrilled to see them return next year. Although we’re incredibly happy for all of those who were awarded during the season, we are more proud of the fact that our team is made up of one-of-a-kind leaders who prioritize working with others over winning alone. This is clearly seen in the way we interact with each other outside conferences. Members of the team will show up to weekend simulations and training not only because they want to better their skills, but also because they enjoy being around the friends they’ve made. I would say that’s pretty great, especially for those who understand the grueling process of getting people to give up their weekend for academic purposes. This next year, our new secretariat strives to maintain our positive team culture while continuing to improve debate and leadership skills. We thank the rest of the circuit for giving us experiences that we can fondly look back on. Come to DAWGMUN, and Go DAWGS!!

16. Fordham University

fordham

Fordham had its best year ever and is ranked for the first time in school history after being in the Top 50 last year. The team’s best performances came at a geographically diverse set of mid-sized conferences: CONMUN, LAMUN, NYUMUNC, and UPMUNC.

From the team: Despite being a player in the circuit for nearly 15 years, the 2023-24 academic year proved to be a turning point for our team, bringing us from the lower 75th to the Top 25 in North America. FUMUN’s success story is a testament to our members’ relentless dedication, passion, and dynamic leadership. Under the brand new E-Board’s guidance – Adil Kadirov as President, Lucas Hjertberg as Vice President, Connor Larson as Treasurer, Emma Adgie as Director of Communications, Strider Bennett as Director of Operations, and Luke Hyland as Director of GA,  we have been able to make a name for ourselves on the collegiate Model UN circuit, within our school, and in our city. Even with a rocky start to our 2023-24 school year and unexpected challenges, we’ve successfully welcomed a new era of MUN here at Fordham. Being such a young team, we strived to establish a strong foundation for our club, creating a welcoming environment for all delegates, both old and new. We value a positive team dynamic just as much as awards, encouraging members to learn from one another, raise each other up, and become close friends with their teammates- after all, winning is only as important as those who helped you get there. We take pride in our great performances and the strong bonds we’ve formed along the way, both within our own team and with other teams as well. This journey has been fueled by our new delegates’ fresh perspectives and unwavering commitment. All in all, our team’s camaraderie, mutual support, and genuine friendships have been vital in bringing us to where we are today. Next year, we aim to welcome new members and continue working tirelessly to grow our team, maintain our energy, and of course defend our national title of Sexiest Delegation! Fordham MUN is not just a team but a family; we cannot wait to keep the good times rolling in the Fall!

17. University of Florida

UF

Florida is re-establishing itself as a Top 25 mainstay with its third straight year in the rankings. The team won individual awards at many conferences, and delegation awards at the smaller conferences: NoleMUN, SGMUN, and AIRMUNC. Notably, it hosted its inaugural SUNMUN as the Southern circuit continues to grow.

From the team: It’s great to be a what? UF MUN is proud to enter its third consecutive year in the Top 25! This year, our team focused on maintaining our momentum on the circuit while establishing systems for our club’s long term success. We did this by recruiting a stellar freshmen class, reforming our club’s leadership structure, and traveling to many new conferences! Among the questionable GroupMe memes, tense rounds of Jeopardy!, and endless themed socials, UF MUN grew its sense of community more than ever. We love the unique talents each of our members bring and want to thank them for their commitment to this team. Always remember, the F in UF MUN stands for family. UF MUN’s year was riddled with so many firsts. Our team hosted SunMUN, our collegiate conference, in Orlando, Florida, for the first time in its 12-year lifetime. Our team also held our largest GatorMUN to date, with over 1,000 high schoolers attending. A special thanks to our staff, secretariat, and Secretary-Generals for these excellent conferences. A heartfelt goodbye to all our seniors who left this club in a better place than they found it. Morgan, Mims, Erin, Kelsey, Sam, Joey, Davis, and Nathalia, we wish you the best in your post grad endeavors! Next year, UF MUN plans to continue to shake up the circuit. Look out for the delegation dressed head to toe in orange and blue, showing you another year of why it’s great to be a Florida Gator.

18. University of Southern California

USC

Whoever submitted USC’s bio mimicked our traditional commentary style pretty well, so we’ll just let them do the honors:

From the team: The University of Southern California had a national schedule and received three delegation awards across eight conferences. This included an outstanding small delegation at BARMUN, an outstanding small delegation at CMUNNY, and an outstanding large delegation at SBIMUN, while also doing well at UCBMUN and LAMUN. MUNSC is the host of TrojanMUN, which will be held for the 10th time this upcoming Fall and is ranked among the best West Coast conferences.

19. Emory University

emory

Emory attended close to half the conferences on the circuit and won many individual awards. They hosted MUNE.

From the team: Traveling far and wide, every delegate on the Emory Model UN team works tirelessly to ensure that we stay a competitive and aggressive team on the circuit. We are thrilled to see the amazing achievements we have made, from making top 25 to running a show-stopping collegiate and high school conference each year. Through every ATL-HO chant we yell, our team has become closer and stronger and we cannot wait for the years to come. We are incredibly proud of all the grit and hard work this team has put in for this achievement to come true. We are so excited to see everyone else on the circuit for another fun-filled exciting year!

20. University of Virginia

UV

Virginia consistently did well at some of the more competitive conferences, and received a Best Small at in-state &MUN. The team hosted VICS.

From the team: This year, UVAMUN reached new heights, made possible by the hard work and dedication of our team members. Our fall semester was marked by Anya Majji’s tenacity in managing and leading the team to success as the sole Inter-Collegiate Coordinator. Our spring semester was marked by our first west coast conference in years, and successfully set a precedent for increasing the number of conferences we attend each semester. From late night debrief sessions, to proper manifesting, the team has truly embodied a grindset mindset this past year. However, our best memories were not from receiving awards, but from 4:30am drives to Dulles Airport and asking to play Automatic at any function we attend.

From our first years who made up a majority of our team, to our wonderful departing fourth-years, we would like to thank every team member for their commitment. We’d also like to thank the wider International Relations Organization and members of the Travel Team Cabinet. We loved getting to know you all better this year and making memories with you on the circuit.  We can’t wait for what the future of UVAMUN will look like next year!

21. University of Cincinnati

uc

Cincinnati breaks into the Top 25 for the first time in team history after being very close last year. The team won awards at a wide range of conferences, and picked up delegation awards at NoleMUN and AIRMUNC. It will launch its inaugural CINNAMUN conference next season.

From the team: This past year marked a remarkable journey for UCMUN. Despite starting with just three members three years ago and facing the possibility of disbandment, our current team of 16 defied the odds. We attended nine conferences, organized four training simulations, and hosted our largest high school conference to date. Whether it was sharing rooms in Red Roof Inns or enduring 14-hour car rides, these experiences forged our community into a tight-knit group of friends. A special thank you to our president Adit Kulkarni, who has been with us since the beginning, and the outstanding support of our Head Delegate Josie Hughes, who both worked tirelessly to ensure this was our best year to date. We are immensely proud of all who contributed and as we bid farewell to our outgoing executive board and graduating seniors, we eagerly anticipate the future of UCMUN. Looking ahead, we are thrilled about hosting our inaugural collegiate Model UN conference, CINNAMUN 1 and we hope to see you all there 🙂

22. University of California, Santa Barbara

ucsb

UCSB is back in the Top 25 for the third time in four years. The team won a pair of Outstanding Large Delegation awards at in-state LAMUN and TrojanMUN. They hosted SBIMUN.

From the team: University of California Santa Barbara has quickly climbed the ranks of Best Delegate circuit, over the past two years having tripled the amount of delegation awards and gavels from the previous year. This has only been made possible by the drive, determination, grit, and passion of the team. Both new and old members alike, the team has grown exponentially in strength and passion, using the work of past years to create a thriving and competitive team. This team would not be where it was without their determination, but more importantly, their commitment to friendship, creativity, and learning. UCSB owes it all to the members who have come before. The work and passion of those who built and set up this team for greatness cannot be understated, and the team would not be where it is without their work.

23. University of Pennsylvania

UP

UPenn is consistently in the Top 25 again as it seeks to re-establish itself after the pandemic. Attending the fewest conferences of any team in the Top 25, their ranking is buoyed by strong performances at HNMUN and VICS. They hosted UPMUNC.

From the team: Intercol’s success story is one of unparalleled resilience. Despite various setbacks, our team put up incredible performances at some of the largest conferences in North America and made Penn a force to be reckoned with once again. What our team prides itself for most of all, however, is the sense of friendship and brotherhood that we have built. We value the opportunity to have fun at conferences and distinguish ourselves not only with our attitude but also with the diverse voices we strive to bring at every turn. We bring the utmost energy, drive, confidence, and good vibes to every conference we attend, setting an example for dynamic collaboration with every and any delegate in committee. All in all, Intercol has truly become a family for every member of the team, serving as a tight-knit community as well as a competitive fighting force on the circuit. To our members, this team would not be here without each and every one of you. You represent one of the most coveted and historically successful teams on the North American circuit and we have every faith that you will continue to represent Intercol with the same passion and dedication that the name commands. To our amazing leaders, Jack and Elie, we couldn’t imagine doing this year without you two. You’ve dealt with some of the toughest challenges Intercol has ever faced and have still led us to our success — you are our biggest role models. Intercol looks forward to the next season, and to fostering new relationships with others on the circuit! Can we get a hurrah?

24. Clark University

clark

Clark traveled to and received awards at many conferences, and that enabled the regular Top 25 team to re-enter into the rankings this year.

From the team: This year, MUN@Clark saw huge successes both on and off the circuit. After recovering from decreased membership in previous years, the team competed at a record 11 conferences across the academic year. The recruitment of one of the largest and most passionate freshmen classes brought new energy and interest into the organization. Taking home individual awards at every conference we competed at, MUN@Clark’s rising success can undoubtedly be attributed to the close networks of friendships that have been built. None of this would have been possible without our leaders Jonah, Max, Cayetana, Brady and Zoe, as their unmatched dedication to the success of the team has set the example for years to come. The graduating seniors are so proud of all of the work the team has put in this year and we can’t wait to watch for more gavels, stellar conference fits, and new friendships on the circuit next year!

25. University of California, San Diego

USD

UC San Diego enters the Top 25 for the first time in school history after rocketing all the way from its Top 100 rank year last. The team won Best Large at SBIMUN and Outstanding Large at NAMUN. More boldly, it also hosted its inaugural SGMUN.

From the team: The team at the University of California San Diego has shown incredible drive, dedication, and passion over the past year, allowing us to establish ourselves as a growing force on the circuit. The core message of our team has been and will continue to reward those willing to put in the work, and that has paid off. From winning a record number of awards this year, to hosting our first ever collegiate conference, we hope to only continue to grow. We started our season with Best Large Delegation at SBIMUN, a feat alone we didn’t think possible in the immediate years following the pandemic. We traveled to a record number of conferences over the year, almost tripling the size of our travel roster and bringing in many new, integral faces to the team. We met a lot of new faces and attended new conferences, such as NAMUN where we won our second delegation award of the year, creating team memories that will last a lifetime. Finally, our home conferences– TritonMUN and SGMUN– exceeded our expectations for success, showing the true determination of our members to do the hard work. We’d like to shout out our executive members for making this happen, especially our graduating seniors– Stone, our inaugural SGMUN Secretary General, Sam, our amazing (and season undefeated) Head Delegate, Justin, our Training Director extraordinaire, and Jack, our bagel-tastic Vice President. Our success can also be attributed to Sid– our incredible president and helm of the ship– who will continue to lead the charge next year! Most importantly, however, we could not have done it without our amazing club members, who all add their own individuality and passion to the team, creating something incredible. UCSD Trite On!
