Alas, the time has come to reflect on the 2023 year at Best Delegate. Filled vibrantly with joyous faces across alumni, students, and staff, Summer MUNI and Virtual Academic Year programs require yet another year-marking celebration. Without further ado, here are some of the highlights of 2023:
Summer MUNI
We kicked off the summer with day and residential camps at various universities across the United States including Boston University, Columbia University, Georgetown University, UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, and UCLA. While it was yet another exciting year to host curious young delegates in-person on college campuses, the summer MUN fun did not stop there. Virtual summer camp options continued to provide an online platform for MUNers to thrive. In both programs, students had the opportunity to practice their MUN skills through debate, negotiation, and research activities throughout the week. But that’s not all the MUN fun: at the end of each week, delegates put their MUN skills to test through real world conference simulations with topics varying from ASEAN South China Sea to the 1998 Kosovo Conflict.

Academic Year Programs
Beyond summer programs, we kicked off and continued multiple virtual MUN programs throughout the 2023 academic year. In addition to MUN Teams and Conferences, we introduced a new program, MUN Clubs, which allows for more flexibility for advanced delegates. We also expanded our monthly 3-hour workshops to include more topic variety. Now, interested MUNers and Advisors have the opportunity to participate in workshops with topics ranging from Crisis Style, to Award Winning, to Simulation Chairing.
Our Impact
When reflecting on the global society that we live in today, it is all the more necessary to raise civic minded and globally aware young leaders. At Best Delegate, that is exactly what we aim to do. MUNI programs have a proven track record for student relevance. Graduating over 11,000 MUNI alums, 96% of alumni recommend programs. And with a staff to student ratio of 1:15, Best Delegate programs facilitate the perfect tight-knit community for future global leaders to connect and thrive. With another year under our belts, we can only say that we are proud of the innovative ideas that MUNI students and alums are constantly developing through Best Delegate programs, and we are optimistic for a bright future in the hands of worldly citizens.
