This past January, Harvard National Model United Nations Latin America (HNMUN-LA) hosted a successful conference in Brasília, Brazil, featuring committees that ranged from the Historical General Assembly’s discussion of 1960s crises in the Congo to a simulation of former Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso’s cabinet, along with many other intellectually stimulating simulations. The thirty schools that attended the conference left extremely satisfied with what they achieved during those four days of intense, but gratifying competition.
Now, however, HNMUN-LA is gearing up for it’s third conference, and its first order of business is deciding a host team. The HNMUN staff wish to combine their sixty years of Model UN experience with the knowledge of a local Model UN organization or government institution in order to create an enriching experience for all delegates in attendance.
The guidelines for the bid may be found here, but generally include specifications in regards to the host city, venue, programming, and finances, as well as other aspects of running a successful conference. All applications should be as thorough as possible. Further information is included on the HNMUN-LA page here.
Don’t pass up this opportunity! See if your club or organization will be the next host of this still budding, yet highly prestigious Latin American conference!
