Over 3,000 delegates from 22 countries are at NAIMUN
Over 3,000 high school students from 22 countries have gathered in Washington, DC, for one of the biggest Model UN conferences in the world: the North American Invitational Model United Nations Conference (NAIMUN) hosted by the Georgetown International Relations Association.
Best Delegate readers have gotten a behind-the-scenes preview of NAIMUN over the past month (check out the kickoff and parts 1, 2, 3, and 4) and now, KFC and I are both here to provide in-depth coverage of the conference. The Secretariat has been very open about how they organize this conference, and our goal this weekend is to make this liveblog different by identifying best practices in organizing large high school Model UN conferences and also sharing lessons learned.
Check out video and pictures below of tonight’s opening ceremonies!
