Between massive GA’s, marathon committee sessions, multiple multi-page resolutions, HMUN is a particularly intense conference. Delegates take the conference very seriously, many of them doing research and preparing months in advance, seeing HMUN as their main Model UN event for the year.
A quarter of the conference’s delegates come from outside the United States and many of them, like The Lyceum School from Pakistan featured last week, view coming to HMUN as a great honor. International schools like La Academia Merici from Venezuela, where Model UN is very popular, realize that they represent both the country they’re assigned as well as the country they come from:
