Best Delegate Summer Programs help entire Model UN teams improve their public speaking, negotiation, and research skills. Delegates who attend our programs can take the skills and lessons they learn back to their school and help their entire team improve.

Throughout the program, delegates practice public speaking, negotiation, and research skills every day. They receive lectures, materials, and worksheets on how to be more confident speakers, stronger negotiators, and better delegates. By the end of the program, delegates have learned dozens of activities and collected a binder full of materials for improving Model UN skills. And when they go back to school, summer programs delegates use the same skill-building activities and materials to help their Model UN teams improve their public speaking, negotiation, and research skills.

Summer programs delegates significantly improve Model UN skills because they receive daily feedback from Diplomacy Fellows on what they did well that day and how they can improve the next day. At the end of the program, delegates learn how to give constructive feedback to one another. In the process, they learn their greatest strengths and weaknesses as delegates and as leaders. After the program, delegates know how to give helpful feedback to their Model UN teammates in order to help them improve their public speaking, negotiation, and research skills.

One summer programs alumnus from our Ambassador Program at Georgetown University said she used our “Fruits and Vegetables” activity as an easy and fun way to introduce new delegates to Model UN. Another alumnus said he shared many of our activities and materials with his team, and at a recent major Model UN conference, he received the Best Delegate award in his committee and his team was recognized as Best Delegation.

At Best Delegate Summer Programs, we teach delegates that the Best Delegate brings out the best in other delegates. Our goal is to bring out the best in the delegates who attend our programs, so they can go back to their Model UN clubs, classes, and conferences, and bring out the best in others.
