Hello Model UN Lovers,
McMUN 2015 will be taking place this coming January, and we are excited to launch our third annual vote for our final committee. McMUN prides itself on a legacy of innovation, and in the spirit of creativity, we would like to invite delegates from all over to share in this legacy.
Recognizing that the delegate experience is the most important aspect of any conference, we (again) want your input in order to decide the future of one of the committees that we will be simulating next January. McMUN is dedicated to simulating committees that engage delegates in the exciting real-world events that serve to affect the course of history.
Video games are the next frontier for creative committees. They are more profitable than ever, and have taken on increased relevance with the launch of such consoles as the PS4 and the XBOX One. These companies represent multiple aspects of the video game industry as it currently stands.
The three possible committees are:
1. Nintendo
With the Nintendo Wii, this company is the third of the big three gaming platforms and has done particularly well at targeting non-traditional gamers through such things as Wii Fit and Wii Sports. With Sony and Microsoft changing the game with their new platforms, how will Nintendo respond?
2. Ubisoft
There are few better than Montreal’s own Ubisoft at developing games, and with the success of the Assassin’s Creed franchise this game developer is going to be around for a while. Yet it remains a relatively small firm in Montreal: is there room for expansion, and if so, how?
3. Blizzard
Blizzard has been on the forefront of MMORPG gaming with the World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo franchises. The developers of these games have to ensure they are still stimulating the interests of their million of players, but also that they have the infrastructure to provide the quality online platform. Can Blizzard continue to expand to the broader gaming community, while satisfying the core game community that has played Blizzard games for the last two decades?
If you hold an interest in having your say in what McMUN could look like, whether or not you plan to attend, we hope you will voice your opinion and vote on the final committee of McMUN 2015!
Please note that, in consideration of our committee-staff preparations, the deadline to complete this survey is April 16th, 2014, at 11:59 pm. Thank you in advance for your valuable answers.
