A mainstay in the Orange County circuit, Mission Viejo High School Model United Nations (MVHSMUN) put on its 28th annual conference on January 15th-16th, 2011.
With a saturation of conferences in the area (many high schools now host a conference), Mission Viejo changed the game with the addition of a novice, one-day conference.
Secretary-General William Chuang was excited to see over 800 advanced and approximately 500 novice delegates make the most of the 23 advanced and 16 novice committees.
With so many committees, Mission Viejo kept the conference under control with a robust secretariat structure, with USG’s overlooking groups of committees. The 23 advanced committees included non-UN organizations including Interpol, the EU, and the Arab League. A robust parent booster organization and administrative network provided ample volunteer resources.
This year, William Chuang was proud to announce that the committees also managed to raise over 900 dollars toward a clean water charity. Congratulations to MVHSMUN for another successful conference in the highly-competitive Orange County circuit!
