Earlier this week, I got a chance to meet the Model UN team from La Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) at the National MUN Conference held at the Sheraton New York. In the video below, we chat about:
- (0:26) What brings so many students from around the world to NMUN?
- (1:17) Why is Model UN so popular in Venezuela?
- (3:14) The team’s meeting with Diego Arria, former Ambassador from Venezuela to the UN, who has been very supportive of Venezuelan youth and Model UN
- (5:38) What does Model UN mean to the team?
- (8:28) The team says hello to friends and family back home in Venezuela
And at yesterday’s closing ceremonies (for the Sheraton venue), the team’s preparation and hard work was recognized by the conference — La Universidad Central de Venezuela received an Outstanding Delegation award, the highest award given at National MUN.
Congratulations to the UCV delegates and their faculty advisor, Paula Ortiz! Thank you for speaking with me — it was a pleasure meeting everyone!
