The Princeton International Relations Council hosted the annual Princeton Model United Nations Conference (PMUNC) this past weekend (Nov 29-Dec 2) in East Brunswick, New Jersey to further the debate and discussion of international affairs at a competitive high school level.
PMUNC hosted over 1,000 delegates from schools across the globe, including schools from India, Turkey, and China at the East Brunswick Hilton, and emphasized the importance of smaller committees than in previous years in order to foster debate with better content as well as better individualized attention towards all the participants. The PMUNC staff consisted of Princeton University students pursuing a variety of different academic interests including politics, economics, and engineering among others., thereby giving a unique perspective towards the evaluation of delegates at the conference. Though PMUNC was not held on the Princeton University campus itself, it also offered campus tours before Saturday committee sessions in order to engage all participants interested in exploring the environment of Princeton students.
Many competitive schools attended PMUNC, and listed are are the results of the delegation awards for PMUNC 2012:
Best Large Delegation: Horace Mann School
Outstanding Large Delegation: Dalton School
Best Small Delegation: University of Chicago Lab School
Outstanding Small Delegation: Canterbury School
