Best Delegate has surpassed 1,000 fans on Facebook!
The entire Best Delegate team just wanted to take this moment to thank all our fans who have supported us throughout the years. It’s been amazing to see this website transform from a simple blog into an education company with the goal of helping students and teachers change the world through Model UN. This past school year had been particularly rewarding as we got to travel around the country to meet our readers, watch our blog readership grow exponentially, and learn about the different ways we can help improve and expand Model UN. We couldn’t have gotten to where we are today without you.
But we’re only getting started! Ryan and Kevin both work on Best Delegate full-time now and we have a lot more exciting content and workshops in store for you! Here’s a sneak peak of what’s ahead for the 2011-12 school year starting in September:
Four new series of articles: Best Delegate has been working hard to write four new series of articles that we think all of our readers — delegates, conference organizers, and teachers — will find interesting and valuable. The four themes will be:
- Leadership Skills & Strategies
- How to Teach Model UN
- Model UN Trends and Analysis
- How to Get Admitted into College
Global blog coverage: Best Delegate will continue to publicize high school and college conferences and team awards in the global Model UN community. Our team will go liveblogging again this year — with extended coverage of international conferences — to write about a mix of both the competitive and prestigious conferences as well as the smaller ones that bring innovative and educational value to the community. We’ll release our world tour schedule in September.
Leadership training workshops: Best Delegate will host one-day training workshops on the weekends that will teach the leadership skills students need to be successful delegates and leaders of their community. We will share the skills we used to not only win awards in committee but to also earn thousands of dollars in scholarships, get into top colleges, and build the confidence to make a difference in school and in life. The workshop tour schedule will be announced in September — check back soon!
Free teacher seminars: Best Delegate will be organizing a tour of free seminars for teachers this Fall. We’ll go over the essentials on how to teach Model UN, share activities that teachers can bring into their classrooms, and even give teachers a chance to experience what it’s like to be a delegate through a mock session. Let your teacher know to check back in September for our tour dates!
