The 2012 Best Delegate Fan Index

Which countries love Model UN the most? We did an analysis of this for 2011 based on data captured by Google Analytics and we thought it’d be interesting to share the results for 2012. Although we mentioned unique visitors in the highlights, the numbers used in the indices are visits since that takes into account repeat visits — it’s a more accurate indicator of activeness and size of a Model UN community. Here are some high-level highlights followed by Top 50 lists of countries & territories and global cities.

Of course, the disclaimer is that Best Delegate has different rates of penetration in each country so some countries may be overrepresented or underrepresented relative to their traffic numbers. Nevertheless, I think this is the best measurement for size and activeness of a Model UN community that’s available anywhere. One of our goals in 2013 is to launch region and language specific pages to better serve some of these communities. We have a lot of exciting times ahead!

Highlights

• Best Delegate had over 260,000 readers (unique visitors) in 2012. That’s more than double the 124,000 readers we had in 2011. Visitors contributed to over 1 million page views.
• Readers came from 190+ countries and territories as defined by Google Analytics.  The United States had the largest readership with 54.8% of visits.
