WAMUNC features an ambitious 6-committee joint crisis simulation on mid-19th century politics called “The Age of Imperialism.” Students have taken on the roles of leaders from the United Kingdom, Russia, Prussia, Austria, France, and the Ottoman Empire.
It’s been cool to see these students take what they’ve learned about 19th century history and then engage the material using a Model UN framework. Check out this video of the Prussian Minister of War negotiating with her counterparts from Russia and the Ottoman Empire about a possible alliance:
