Santa Fe College successful at two conferences. Santa Fe College split its team to participate at two conferences – the Southern Regional Model United Nations conference in Atlanta as well as a competition in the Czech Republic. Both teams represented the nation of Mexico and won awards.
Southern Methodist University will be hosting its inaugural high school conference. Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, will be hosting its inaugural high school MUN conference on February 12, 2011. The conference is anticipated to feature some innovative committees as well as crisis committees. SMU expects the conference to be a great experience and sees it as their first step toward eventually hosting an intercollegiate conference.

Model United Nations of San Antonio (MUNSA)
MUNSA is hosted by the International School of the Americas and is one of the largest high school conferences in the western United States with over 1,000 delegates attending every year in San Antonio, Texas. The theme of this year’s conference is “Catalyst” as the conference hopes to that “by heightening our awareness of issues that influence our world, we can obtain the knowledge necessary to become the catalyst or initiator of our community.” The conference lineup features 17 traditional UN committees and also includes an OAS committee where delegates can participate in Spanish. The Secretary-General is Binni Khatri.
