Last August, a production company called CrossBorders was working with Subway restaurants on their High School Heroes series and were looking to film America’s most inspirational teams. After hearing about the successes of the West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South Model United Nations team, they decided that the SouthMUN team would be a good fit as it combines academics with an extracurricular activity. Here’s the video below:
Nikhil Gavai, the President of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South MUN, said of the experience, “I thought that this was a very special experience, especially since people outside of the MUN community were recognizing the tremendous impact of this extracurricular activity. I hope that Model United Nations becomes as important to others as it is to us today.”
Here at Best Delegate, we commend SouthMUN for being featured in this video. Model UN participants do great things and will really become the future leaders of our world, but oftentimes MUN teams do not receive the recognition that they deserve. We think more schools will benefit if they proactively publicize their accomplishments and experiences to their local media outlets. BestDelegate.com is just the beginning of this culture of publicity; it’s up to everyone else to spread the word to their fellow students, teachers, parents, administration, and community.
