WIMUN draws hundreds of delegates from every corner of the world to participate in the most accurate simulation of the United Nations. In committee sessions, delegates learn about the policy and relations of the nation they represent. Not only are they positioned to delve into political perspectives of different nations, but also to explore the cultural backdrop of each member state. We extend this learning outside the committee room with the immersive WIMUN Global Experience.
At WIMUN 2020 High School in New York City, all delegates are invited for the Global Experience celebration where you will have the opportunity to learn from your peers about their native countries and cultures. You may even get a chance to learn about your delegation’s country from its own citizens! Attending WIMUN will launch you into a mix of diplomacy and diversity. Your perceptions of other countries and groups of people might shift as you get a personal experience with nations from all across the globe united in the one building.
WIMUN’s Global Experience is a cultural hub for developing a web of connections across nations, leaving you with friends (and maybe free accommodation?) in multiple countries. Each group of people representing their home country will have the opportunity to bring souvenirs, music, memorabilia, flags or maybe even food to share with their WIMUN peers, building a new appreciation for their home country in New York.
Take a trip around the world for one night and taste food from every corner of the earth while you enjoy cultural performances, and immerse yourself in the international flavors of WIMUN.
