The NSC Debates How to Handle the Many Crises Facing the US in 2030
The West Point Security Conference (WPSC) is designed to reflect the bureaucracy and hierachy of the United States national security system. The National Security Council (NSC), chaired by President Drew Peterson and Vice President Warren Geary, is at the top of this chain of command.
The NSC issues directives down to and receives recommendations from the working groups on terrorism, intelligence, and homeland security, the regional commands of Africa (AFRICOM) and the Pacific (PACOM), and the US embassy in China.
At this point in the conference, the United States has had to respond to a dirty bomb attack on Houston, Muslim extremists in Somalia, and piracy off the coast of Singapore, not to mention tense relations with China.
